Do you believe flowers sing?  Well, I have an exciting encounter to share with you. As the sun was vividly shining one morning while driving to work, I happened to look to my left and saw a beautiful field bursting brightly with sunflowers.  It was breathtaking.  I was fascinated because I had not seen the flowers before.  It is as if they awoke overnight standing tall as the brilliance of their petals stretched with all their might towards the sun.  Suddenly my ears opened up to hear a heavenly melody.  I heard the song of the sunflowers!  I was in awe.  What a gift God had given me in that moment to hear the song of sunflowers singing to the Creator of the Universe.  It is no wonder that these cheerful flowers literally mean “adoration” according to the Farmer’s Almanac.

I think of the verse from the song “So Will I” by Hillsong – “If creation sings your praises, so will I.” The Scripture says in Psalm 66:4 (ESV) “All the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name.”

Even in the mundane, God is there, and He speaks to us.  His beauty within creation beams, it beckons us to see our Creator, to draw us closer to Him.  So, when you see a sunflower or a field of these exuberant flowers, remember they have a song, a song they sing praising our Heavenly Father.

“Flowers of your faithfulness are blooming on the earth.  Righteousness shines down from the sky.  Yes, the Lord keeps raining down blessing after blessing, and prosperity will drench the land with a bountiful harvest.” Psalm 85:11-12(TPT)
